... no more hats, stubby holders, lanyards. How about something different, something useful, something new.
What if everyone who came to your event left holding nothing but the Poken? An electronic device which gathers up all the information your visitor wants while they’re at the expo, and then allows them to connect to your secure online hub in the comfort of their own home at the end of the day. The Poken will not only connect them to all the exhibitors they were interested in, but also to any other visitors they “Poke’d” with during the day.
So how does it work? You can quickly exchange details of your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn accounts by simply touching the palms of your four-fingered Poken with another Poken. They use short-range RFID to transfer all your social networking profiles to each other. Then when you get home, plug your Poken into a USB port, and the data is transferred to your personal Poken profile on our secure online hub. It’s really just that simple.
Each Poken can be branded specifically to the event or the event sponsor, and linked to an event branded Hub.
So what’s this Hub? The hub is where all your Poken people come to view and collect their contacts and exhibitor files. But you can use it to stay connected to your clients long after they’ve left the event. And with ongoing analytics, you can see exactly who is logging on and where they’re from.
With the cute variety of Poken characters available and a variety of brandable Poken, all ready to be attached to your clients key chain or lanyard, PokenOz can show you how to combine the worlds of real world networking and online networking. And there’s no need for worry about waiting for your order to arrive from overseas, or paying hefty postage, as PokenOz is right here in Perth.
One event co-ordinator commented “Attendees benefitted from enhanced social networking, and a “green” way to collect information about the products they were most interested in.”
Each Poken stores up to 300 contacts before it needs to be downloaded, and warns its owner when it’s nearly full. Don’t worry about sharing any IDs you don’t want to, either, because your online Poken account lets you choose which of your profiles you want to share. And change your mind about who to share with? When you delete them from your timeline, you’re automatically deleted from theirs.

The Poken have only recently been released from their home in Switzerland into the wilds of Australia under the watchful eye of their new caretakers, Andy and Sue (Askew Vision t/a PokenOz Media). These ladies have combined their knowledge and experience in online and social media to provide the Australian public with this new technology.
