Five easily avoided DIY website fails

Making your own website used to mean that you'd either have to learn another language (HTML) or buy expensive software that would be usurped by something else after a few months.
But now you can make a fantastic looking mobile friendly website using something like WIX websites, without even having to ask the teenager at home for assistance.

But before you do get too excited, there's a couple of little mistakes that can be easily avoided.

Webpages can have lots of movement now, which is cool when you're making them. But too many flashing images can drive your customer away from the message.

If you tell your clients everything on the website, then they have no reason to contact you.

Just like with a newspaper advert, make sure you have a "call to action" on each page. Tell your client what they need to do next.

Keep the website focused on one specific goal. Bring the client in, and direct them towards that goal at every opportunity. eg: buy here, call us, email us, etc...

You know your business and product too well, so ask a friend who doesn't to give you an honest review before you start promoting.
